Tool #2 - Prayer The second tool in the shepherd's tool box is prayer. We say the first is "compassion" because without compassion you won't pray as you ought to pray. So the greatest resource the shepherd has is the Chief Shepherd. Call on him! He is compassionate, and merciful, and he is standing ready to act on your behalf. He invites you to come "boldly" to the throne of his grace to find mercy and grace to help in the time of need. It is important for shepherd's to constantly remember that you are not the Savior of this little flock. The best thing you can do for your flock its to PRAY for them. Often the only thing you can do for you flock it to pray for them. Until you have prayed you have not done anything for your flock. Pray! Pray! Pray!
